THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall for areas that include the ACT, the NSW Southern Tablelands and South West Slopes.
Damaging winds, heavy rain and hail are likely to impact Canberra throughout this afternoon and evening.
BOM says a trough moving across NSW on Friday is promoting severe thunderstorms development.
“Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours,” the bureau says.
“Locations which may be affected include… Canberra, Goulburn, Yass, Wagga Wagga and Albury.”
