THE Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House will be closed this weekend.
The rare occurrence is attributable to work on the main electrical switchboard, parts of which, staff say, have been in place since former prime minister Malcolm Fraser was in the building in the 1980s.
This requires a full power shutdown across Old Parliament House.
MoAD and Old Parliament House will be closed from noon, Friday and will reopen at 9am on Monday.
