‘Puffs’ is good for the kids, good for a giggle

The energetic cast of The Q’s comedy “Puffs”.

Theatre / “Puffs” by Matt Cox, directed by Jordan Best, Echo Youth. At The Q until May 20. Reviewed by ARNE FEALING.

A SHOW to take your kids to. An almost pantomime-style production derived from all things Harry Potter – this is a spin off that will leave children, and parents in the know, giggling.

With a local Queanbeyan eatery doing a very special Spaghetti bolognese, just on the main drag near The Q, it’s a night out your bambinos will want to return and take their best mate to. For the cost of an $11 plate of spag bol and a theatre ticket – enter at your own risk.

The play, performed by The Q’s company of young actors, Echo Youth, attempts to bring colour and humour to an otherwise cold and gloomy pre-winter season.

Full of fun and energy – as always, there are performances that bring a level of elevation to the stage, where the cast of young actors have the time of their lives. However, picking the best would be like telling tales out of turn about who has the biggest crush on the best-looking boy or girl at school.

Sometimes looking into a mirror at your own youth is an opportunity to smile at how some things never change. Including theatre made for and by young people eager to experience the thrills of another show for a warm and interested audience.
