Cook man on kill-threat charges to woman

A 50-year-old Cook man is alleged to have threatened to kill a woman over multiple phone calls to her on Monday evening.

She reported him to the Tuggeranong Police Station.

When police went to his home around 10.45pm, he attempted to barricade himself inside.

He allegedly punched an officer in the chest, and kicked out at several others in an attempt to escape.

The man was subsequently arrested and has been charged with using a carriage service to threaten to kill, assaulting a frontline community service provider and resisting police.
