Four new inductees have been appointed to the ACT Sport Hall of Fame, feted for excellence in their field and their contribution to the sporting community.
Located at the Sporting Commons at the University of Canberra, the ACT Sport Hall of Fame began in 1995 and recognises athletes (Full Member) and non-athletes, including coaches, officials, sport scientists, journalists and administrators (Associate Member).
This year the ACT Sport Hall of Fame will welcome:
• Katrina Fanning – Full Member – Rugby League
• Brad Haddin – Full Member – Cricket
• Carrie Graf – Associate Member – Basketball
• Ron Harvey – Associate Member – Basketball
All four will all be formally inducted at the 2024 CBR Sport Awards event on November 27 at Belconnen Arts Centre.
The finalists for the Minister for Sport and Recreation’s Awards, which form part of the CBR Sport Awards, have also been revealed.
Finalists for the Minister’s Award for Event Excellence:
• Hockey ACT – 2023 Hockey One Finals Series
• Softball ACT – 2024 Gilley’s Shield
• AFL Canberra – 100 Year Celebrations
Finalists for the Minister’s Award for Innovation:
• Basketball ACT – Glory League
• Stromlo Running Festival – 2024 Research Summit
• Bowls ACT – Graded Reserve Open Gender Championships
