Two people broke into a barber’s shop in Gungahlin and set fire to it late on Saturday night.
Police believe the perpetrators smashed the glass front door of the Hibberson Street shop, spread an accelerant throughout the premises and lit it.
In doing so, it’s also believed one of the offenders inadvertently set themselves alight. This was quickly extinguished by the other offender.
They fled on push bikes in the direction of Gungahlin Place. The premises sustained significant damage.
Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has knowledge of a person with burns to their body and/or clothing.
Call 1800 333000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
