Two drivers have been caught in separate morning RBT operations this week.
A 60-year-old male driver was booked with a breath analysis of 0.096 during a random breath and drug testing operation on Canberra Avenue, Symonston, at 6.30am on Monday.
On Wednesday morning at 8.45 a 48 year-old female driver returned a breath analysis reading of 0.117 – more than double the legal limit for a full licence holder when she was caught by random testing on Norse Road, Beard.
Both drivers were immediately suspended from driving in the ACT for 90 days and will face court.
A/Insp Jonathon Turkich said: “Police are often questioned as to why they undertake operations during morning hours.
“These arrests and many like them, highlight the importance of police undertaking these operations anywhere, anytime, because people are driving impaired at those times.”
