A 31-year-old Victorian man has been charged with multiple offences following two collisions on Canberra Avenue on Friday morning.
Two teenage boys were seriously injured after the green Holden Commodore station wagon he was driving collided with a vehicle, before hitting two teenage pedestrians outside St Edmund’s College.
Police say the driver drove away before coming to a stop on Canberra Avenue near the Manuka shops. He then allegedly attempted to run off but was detained by members of the public before being arrested by police.
The Holden Commodore station wagon was allegedly stolen earlier in the morning in Sutton.
The 31-year-old Warrenheip man, who was subject to interstate parole and bail conditions, was charged with offences including unlicensed driving, driving a motor vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, and two charges of negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
Police investigators urge anyone who may have footage of the vehicle or who witnessed the incident to come forward.
