House fire in Ngunnawal

FIREFIGHTERS are at the scene of a house fire in Ngunnawal.

ACT Fire & Rescue were called to the Burrumarra Avenue just before 2:30.

The fire in the kitchen of the property has been extinguished.

Firefighters are now checking the roof space to ensure it didn’t spread after the fire burned through the range hood above the stove.

Two occupants are currently being assessed on scene by ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics for suspected smoke inhalation

Fire crews are now ventilating the property after confirming no more sign of fire in the roof space.

The initial estimated damage bill is $30,000.

Two men, one aged 43 and the other aged in his 30’s, have been treated by intensive care paramedics for smoke inhalation and will be transported to hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
