AS Canberra deals with the unusual challenge of consecutive days of rain, the ACT Government has begun closing infrastructure.
First are the sportsgrounds:
All ACT Government sportsgrounds are closed until further notice due to the continuing heavy rain.
The decision has been taken to prevent damage to the turf surfaces and in the interest of player safety.

And the Googong foreshore:
The ACT Government wishes to advise residents and visitors that London Bridge Road has been closed at the southern entrance to Googong meaning there is no vehicle access to the southern end of Googong Dam.
