AS the ACT reaches a milestone, with 25 per cent of its adult population vaccinated, Canberrans aged 30-39 can now book in for a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination at any ACT COVID-19 mass vaccination clinics.

Fifty per cent of the adult population have also received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Of the 70,000 30 to 39 year olds in the ACT, 16,000 received their first dose as part of phases 1a and 1b and more than 20,000 have already registered with MyDHR.

ACT Health says it will contact every person who registered through MyDHR to notify them that appointments are now open.

“All 30 to 39 year olds who have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccination are encouraged to book online through MyDHR as soon as possible,” says ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr.

“As we see new outbreaks across the country and the emergence of highly transmissible strains, now is the time for all eligible Canberrans to book their COVID-19 vaccine appointment either through an ACT COVID-19 mass vaccination clinic or through their GP.

“Vaccines are the only way out of this pandemic. There is no other viable alternative to protect yourself and the people around you from very serious illness. There is no other alternative to ending the lockdowns and the travel restrictions that have impacted on our lives.

“The vaccines significantly reduce the risk of ending up in ICU because of a COVID-19 infection. The more people who get a vaccination, the better protected our entire community will be.”
