Covid death: man in his 80s dies in hospital

A MAN in his 80s has died in intensive care, the latest local victim of COVID-19.

He passed away yesterday (December 7) and had underlying health conditions.

His death brings the total number of deaths in the ACT as a result of covid to 12.

In the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday, the territory recorded eight new cases of the virus.

However, total active case numbers continue to drop, with 79 reported today down from the 85 reported yesterday.

There are now four people in ACT hospitals as a result of the virus, with two in intensive care and none on ventilators.

ACT residents aged 12 and over who are fully vaccinated now number 98.1 per cent.

More information and a full list of exposure sites can be found here.
