A 63-year-old Kaleen woman has been charged with being more than five times over the legal limit following a two-vehicle smash in Kaleen.
Police and emergency services were called to the collision at the intersection of Baldwin Drive and Maribyrnong Avenue in Kaleen about 10.15am on Friday, December 3.
Police say they spoke to the female driver of one of the vehicles, a white Holden Commodore, who they believed to be highly intoxicated. Several witnesses to the incident told police the Commodore was driving erratically, hitting kerbs and swerving to the wrong side of the road before the collision.
The woman was taken to Calvary Hospital for treatment for minor injuries. A compulsory blood sample indicated a concentration of 0.294 grams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Earlier today (December 20) police issued the woman with an Immediate Suspension Notice suspending her ACT licence for 90 days. She has been summoned to attend the ACT Magistrates Court in March.
