RAT cases rival PCR covid tests in southern NSW

THREE hundred and sixteen new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in southern NSW today (January 22) – 167 detected by PCR tests and 149 cases by rapid antigen testing (RAT).

The Southern NSW Local Health District is also reporting 14 people in hospital and two in intensive care. It is managing 3576 active cases.

The rapid antigen tests have not been identified by local government area, but of the district’s 167 cases confirmed by PCR tests:

  • 30 are in the Bega Valley LGA.
  • 33 in Eurobodalla.
  • 42 in Goulburn Mulwaree.
  • 15 in Queanbeyan Palerang.
  • 13 in Snowy Monaro.
  • 11 in Upper Lachlan.
  • 23 in Yass Valley.
