My brother Ralph Nelson wrote this poem some years ago. Disturbing that it is still relevant. The cartoon resonated with me.
WAR.
War is the vampiric bastard child of politics,
It cannot recognise love or affection,
It screams for attention and to be fed,

Playing with the deadliest, noisiest toys it can find,
Maiming,
Burning,
Hating,
Isn’t it time someone put it to bed,
And sang it a lullaby?
