A man has been charged over the death of a three-year-old girl, who was struck by a car in a suburban driveway.
Emergency services were called to Normanby Road in Auburn, in Sydney’s west, shortly after 2pm on Tuesday following reports a child had been hit by a car.
At the scene, officers were told a three-year-old girl had been hit by a vehicle while it was entering a driveway.
Paramedics treated the girl at the scene before she was transported to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, where she later died.
The driver, a 27-year-old man, was uninjured but taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.
He was then taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with negligent driving occasioning death.
He was granted conditional bail and is due to face Burwood Local Court on Wednesday.
