THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for the ACT, with heavy rain and thunderstorms from midday which may lead to flash flooding. 
The ACT State Emergency Service has units on a higher level of readiness. Residents who require emergency storm or flood assistance can call the ACTSES on 132-500.
