ABC’s ‘tricks’ keep local viewers watching

THIS week’s television ratings for the capital saw the ABC take top honours with “New Tricks”, while PRIME put in a solid performance with “The X-Factor” and the return of cop series “Bones”.

Meanwhile, WIN’s best-rating non-news program was “Funniest Home Videos” in the number 34 spot, with around 24,700 viewers, then, way down the chart at number 51, with quiz program ”
“Hot Seat”.

“Big Brother” hasn’t delivered for WIN, with the best rating episode for the week attracting fewer than 19,500 people.

The ABC, meanwhile, is offering a mix of documentary, imported and local comedy, and local drama, easily winning the peak-viewing time
slot with almost 20 per cent share.

TEN picked up some share in all-viewing, perhaps thanks to the live coverage of Casey Stoner’s last Phillip Island MotoGP appearance.

The new free-to-air digital channels continue to draw eyeballs away from the majors, with a total all-viewing share of 35.5 per cent and peak
viewing share of 29.6 per cent.

Of the top performers, ELEVEN has a primary audience of 13-29s, GO has a 16-39 skew, while SEVEN2 has an older 25-54 profile.
