“STUDENT of the Red-Brown Earth”  is a collection of ceramic works by Craig Edwards currently showing at  Strathnairn.

Part of an exploratory project  that explores the notion of place through the use of local materials found on location, the exhibition will feature some works that have been wood fired in Edwards’ new kiln and follows the process through which he learnt to use it.

Through a learning process and visits to the location, he says, the works have been affected by the natural cycles of life; the changing states of the sky, weather patterns and how these influence the landscape.

“Student of the Red-Brown Earth” , Strathnairn Gallery, Stockill Drive, Holt, until August 5, Friday to Sunday 10am-4.30pm.
