Refunds as cricket washed out

THE Prime Minister’s XI match at Manuka Oval was cancelled today due to wet weather.

About 6000 people were expected to watch the match, with only about 2000 coming on the day – 1500 of those spectators were corporate ticket holders.

According to event organisers the game was postponed up until 1pm, but after a series of inspections umpires declared the game cancelled.

“Umpires made mutiple inspections of the ground,” an event organiser said.

“Both teams were really keen to play, but after a review, the rain had not lifted at all.”

Ticket holders will be refunded, however corporate ticket holders will receive no refund.
