Snowies festival announces line-up

THE Fourth Perisher Snowy Mountains of Music Festival has just announced the first artists in its line-up to usher the snow season in over the June long weekend.

Here’s just a taste. From New Zealand comes the group The Black Seeds. Then there’s Brendan Gallagher, who’s recorded with David Bowie and Jimmy Little; Liz Frencham and our own Fred Smith; and Nicky Bomba with Bustamento, stirring up a bit of tropical music in the snow.

Talking of which, AJ Leonard’s Tropical Lounge is to be centre of all the ukulele music.

Late night performances at Perisher will feature gritty bluegrass players The Quarry Mountain Dead Rats and gypsy punk artists, The Mouldy Lovers.

There’ll also be festival favourites, A French Butler Called Smith, Wongawilli, Riogh and The Hussy Hicks.
