A RESTAURANT in Belconnen was robbed at knifepoint last night by a man who fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Police say the man entered the Hot Lantern Chinese Restaurant at the Jamison Centre, Macquarie, at around 8.35pm and threatened three staff members with a knife.
He stole a handbag containing a small amount of cash and took money from the cash register as he left. Nobody was injured in the incident.
The man was wearing a light coloured, full-faced helmet during the robbery and was last seen riding away towards Bowman street on a green motorcycle, described as a two-stroke trail bike.
Before entering the restaurant, the offender may have parked his trail bike on the footpath outside Ricardo’s Café, Jamison Centre.
The man is described as 170cm (5’7”) tall, with a solid build and wearing a black, long sleeved top and black pants.
Police are asking anyone with information that could help identify the man, or who witnessed suspicious activity in and around the Jamison Centre last night, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
