WIN hits a six in ratings war

COVERAGE of The Ashes test has helped the WIN Network secure the top nine shows and 34 per cent of peak viewers in Canberra.ashes

WIN had huge ratings for The Block: Sky High, their news programs, and the first episode of Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year: Asia which pulled in just over 42,000 viewers for the first episode.

Prime on the other hand didn’t fare too well, with the network dropping 4.2 per cent and 4 per cent across total viewers and peak viewers respectively. Without Packed to the Rafters and House Rules, they weren’t able to pull in the same audiences as they had in over the last few weeks during Peak Viewing.

Southern Cross Ten’s Under the Dome seems to have stabilised around the 30,000 mark, pulling in 30,050 this week, around 2,000 more viewers.

Overall, WIN won the week with an easy 32.4 per cent of total viewers due mainly to their coverage of The Ashes, The Block: Sky High, and their news programs. The ABC came in second with 24.9 per cent followed by Prime with 20.7 per cent. Meanwhile Southern Cross Ten dropped 1.1 percentage-points and 15.6 per cent of total viewers, and SBS brought up the rear with 6.4 per cent.
