ACT Policing is investigating a collision in Acton today (Thursday, 10 April) in which a male driver has died.
About 3.10pm police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision into a tree within the Australian National University on Sullivans Creek Road, near the intersection with Daley Road, Acton.
ACT Ambulance Service attended and attempts were made to resuscitate the man and he was transported to The Canberra Hospital, where he later died. He was the sole occupant of the car.
It appears that the driver suffered a medical condition and the vehicle collided with a tree at low speed. Police investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
ACT Policing’s requests that any witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken with police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
