“Citynews” has been talking to local composer Marc Robertson, who’s written an industrial rock-style score for writer Jim McGrath’s new show, “Heart of a Dog”, based on the satirical Russian novella by Mikhail Bulgakov.
It’s a Dr Frankenstein-type tale about a dog transformed into a man and Robertson has gone for music reflecting the underbelly of urban life.
Director Nick Byrne and his team of actors and creatives are in rehearsals for the world premiere at The Street later in the month.
We can now give our readers electronic access to the opening number of the show, “Moscow Snow”.
As well, we can give you a sneak preview of a costume for “Heart of a Dog”, designed by Imogen Keen.
“Heart of a Dog the musical ”, by Jim McGrath, at Street 2, May 2-24, bookings to thestreet.org.au or 6247 1223.
