CANBERRANS are in for a treat if they look for the rising moon tonight.
Time and Date have the details, but basically the moon will rise over Canberra at 5:34 PM already in total eclipse, and then reach maximum eclipse at 5:46 PM before the total eclipse ends at 6:23 PM with the whole show not finishing until 8.36PM.
The weather forecast is for no worse than partly cloudy and with temperatures not yet too cold it’s a fine time to take a picnic somewhere with good views of the horizon.
It’s rare enough to get a blood moon (the moon in eclipse), but a blood moon rising will be quite the sight.
