Knife wielded in convenience store robbery

policePOLICE want to hear from witnesses to an aggravated robbery of a convenience store in Civic yesterday evening.

About 5.45pm, a man entered The Barrow convenience store, on the ground level of the Waldorf building on the corner of Akuna Street and London Circuit, and threatened a staff member with a large knife and demanded cash. The staff member complied and the man fled on foot.

The man was wearing a black-hooded jumper and a covering over his face. The jumper was grey in the arms and black in the body with a large grey design on the front.

Police are investigating and seeking CCTV footage.
