ANU recieves defence innovation worth millions

SENATOR Zed Seselja announced today that ANU will receive $2.69 million to increase defence potential. Defence

The investment will be used to improve the performance of inertial navigation systems which use cold atoms to assist maritime, land and air domains in GPS poor situations.

Minister for Defence Industry, Christopher Pyne, says that seven Australian organisations across Australia will receive Government funding totalling $14.7 million to develop and demonstrate innovative technologies for the defence.

“The Government is committed to developing a stronger partnership between industry and Defence and harnessing innovation to deliver Defence’s capability needs.

“The funding is being made available under Defence’s long-standing Capability and Technology Demonstrator Program, which continues to contribute to the Government’s Innovation strategy.”
