CANBERRA’S visual arts community is reeling from news that celebrated local designer and innovator, Robert Foster, died in a fatal two car collision on Kings Highway in Kowen this morning.
Foster, the creator of the F!NK + Co Water Jug which can been seen as far away as the Royal College of Art, London and The Museum of Modern Art, New York, is also the designer of the LED installation of “ossolites” visible to all Canberrans in the window of ActewAGL House in Civic.
Together with his small team, including his wife Gretel, he has operated out of premises in Queanbeyan, where F!NK + Co has more than 37 designs in its range, also becoming a production house for an increasing pool of young Australian designers.
In 2015 he was honoured by the ANU as an Alumnus of the Year for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
