Empty Charnwood house burns down

FIREFIGHTERS have worked to extinguish a house fire in Charnwood.

ACT Fire & Rescue was alerted to the incident in Bettington Circuit just after 4:41am and immediately responded with three pumpers, one support vehicle and two commanders.

Crews arrived to find the property well alight and have now extinguished the fire, searching the property for hotspots.

The house has received major structural damage.

A search of the premises has found no occupants inside.

Crews were alerted to the incident following a call Emergency Triple Zero (000).
