Catherine Carter snags construction award

ACT winners of the annual National Association for Women in Construction (NAWIC) Awards for Excellence have been announced.

“This is our 8th Annual Awards ceremony in the ACT and it is with great pride that we see the event grow each year. It is a clear demonstration of the significant value that women bring to the sector and of the commitment that Canberrans have in supporting diversity and equality in the construction industry”, said Lisa Dart, ACT NAWIC chapter president.

“Numbers of women working in the sector are still at troubling levels, and very few women progress to management. Effective mentoring is a critical element in supporting women to make meaningful connections in the workforce and to harness skills and the confidence to aim high.”
