WorkSafe commissioner Greg Jones has confirmed asbestos is present at Harrison School and Mr Coe says there are measures that are going to take place.
“Harrison School was completed in early 2012, yet it appears that a particularly hazardous substance is present in the school yard,” Mr Coe says.
“To date, we are not sure what actions the ACT Labor government has taken to ensure the safety of the students, staff, parents or others in the surrounding area.
“However there remains many questions about when the government found out and what steps they took to ensure public safety.”
After the opposition’s press conference today (August 30), Education Minister Yvette Berry confirmed that there is an asbestos contamination at Harrison School.
