Grass and forest fire near Duffy

SEVEN units and a grader of the ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue are on the scene are fighting a grass and forest fire burning at Narrabundah Hill near Duffy.
The bushfire alert and warning level has been set at “advice”.

The fire, which is burning at a slow rate and heading in a easterly direction toward Duffy, is about two hectares in size and is being controlled. Its fire danger rating is “high”, which means well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire, embers may be blown ahead of it, spot fires can occur close to the main fire and relocating to the location identified in your Bushfire Survival Plan is the best option.

The ESA advises the public to monitor the situation for any changes through esa.act.gov.au, ESA Twitter account @ACT_ESA, ESA Facebook account @ACT Emergency Services Agency, the national version of the Fires Near Me mobile device App or by calling Access Canberra on 132281.

This advice should be read in conjunction with current weather conditions. Current weather observations can be found at bom.gov.au/weather/act/observations/canberra.shtml
