Robber threatens with axe

A MAN was robbed of cash and a mobile phone in Belconnen last night by a man wielding a small axe.

At around 10.30pm, the 24-year-old man was talking on his mobile phone next to his car on Hennessy Street in Belconnen when he was approached by a man who demanded cash.

Initially the man refused to hand over any cash until the offender pulled out a small axe.

The offender took the man’s money and mobile phone and fled along Hennessey Street towards College Street.

The offender is described as Caucasion in appearance, aged between 20 to 30-years-old, approximately 183cm (6’) tall with a stocky build and was wearing a dark coloured hoodie jumper, navy tracksuit pants and a black baseball cap.
