CANBERRA artist Paul Summerfield, whose work was projected onto Old Parliament House during Enlighten, will showcase his new collection in an exhibition entitled “Sky Aquarium” at The Front Cafe and Gallery in Lyneham  from this week.

Summerfield, who uses digital design combined with painting and drawing techniques, has created “fantastical landscapes that evoke glimmers of other worlds, past and future” in this latest exhibition.

The new collection will also include the first hanging of “The Moad” – the piece projected onto Old Parliament House during Enlighten.

“These works follow on from the ‘Secret Cities’ collection and some are set in the same worlds I created for that series,” Summerfield said.

“They are about vivid skies, lush sunsets and atmospheric moods. I’ve aimed to create works people can lose themselves in.

“I hope people find the stories in these works; that they interpret, explore and continue them in their own way.”

The exhibition officially opens 6pm on Thursday, May 3, and will include a performance by Canberra band, Cracked Actor.
