“I AM” is an annual exhibition coordinated by ACT Community Cultural Inclusion Officers, gives artists experiencing disability and disadvantage an opportunity in the ACT to challenge the way people think about and see disability.
The exhibition gives artists the opportunity to take charge by declaring “I am,” in many different contexts, enabling artists to celebrate who they are and what makes them valued members in their family and in our community
The exhibition partly coincides with national Social Inclusion Week, which encourages communities to reconnect and be inclusive of all cultures, age groups, nationalities and the disadvantaged.
“I AM” exhibition, at Belconnen Arts Centre, 118 Emu Bank, Belconnen, until December 9, 10am to 5pm Tuesday – Sunday.
