THE incredibly busy M16 Artspace is presently showing works by three artists reflecting on this winter season.
Eve Sawa’s large oil paintings of the alpine environment around Mt Kosciuszko are an obvious match to the season, depicting her concern for the sustainability of this delicate environment.

Together with Marilyn Stretton, whose skyscapes follow her interest in the negative and positive energies that are at play in nature, the paintings are exhibited under the title “Between Here and Now”. The artists suggest that their focus is on “the present moment – Here representing space and Now representing time”.
Meantime in Gallery 01 is “Rocks”, by Manuel Pfeiffer, whose paintings show Australian landscapes from the coast to the outback with rocks as the main subject.
Pfeiffer moved to Canberra from Switzerland six years ago, and in this, his fourth exhibition at M16 Artspace, he shows paintings of rocks he saw on his numerous walks through the Australian landscape.
The painting exhibitions are in Galleries 01 and 03, M16 Artspace Gallery,Blaxland Crescent, Griffith, 12-5, Wednesday-Sunday, until July 8.
