Call for entries to community show

bacBELCONNEN Arts Centre’s Community Show will run July 19 –August 4 in the Gallery and you have until next Monday—June 18—to get your entry forms in.

Entries are now open for Belconnen Arts Centre’s third annual community art show, that will take place in July and will give all members of the Canberra community  a chance to create artworks that explore the idea of the “intersections” one finds in life—intersections in relationships, the idea of crossings, the place where two roads meet, cultural connections, and (in Canberra’s case) even roundabouts.

All members of the Belconnen community and from the wider Canberra region are invited to contribute artwork for the upcoming exhibition, and to include with their application, a statement about their entry.

Contributions from all ages, mediums and viewpoints are welcomed. Artists working in any stage of their career are invited to submit work exploring “intersections”.

This will be the Centre’s third community show, and Creative Programs Director Jacque Schultze, is expecting it to be “ full of unexpected interpretations.”

For more information and an entry form, please visit the website http://www.belconnenartscentre.com.au/whatson/intersections.html
