Police arrive just after armed robbery

A SUPERMARKET in Scullin was robbed at knifepoint last night, only shortly before police officers came past on a routine patrol.

Police-afp-cops-9720-400x266A man with a bandana covering his face entered the 5 Star Supermarket at Scullin Shops just before 8.30pm last night and demanded cash from a staff member.

The attendant handed over the money and the offender fled the scene.

The shop assistants then reported the armed robbery to Belconnen police officers, who arrived soon after by coincidence.

The offender was described as Caucasian and around 5’11” (180cm) tall with short blonde hair with light brown eyes. He was wearing dark clothing with a black bandana over his face.

Anyone with information that may relate to the robbery can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or by going to act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
