The charmingly (albeit often innacurately) named “Tasty Time” has moved on from its spot on City Walk just up from King O’Malleys.
In its place we now have “@ City Cafe” offering lunch and a soft drink for $10.
The decor is charmingly half-arsed with cod philosophy daubed on the walls, with later grammatical corrections, and nik naks planted here and there.
The staff seemed a little confused by my arrival but we agreed that I’d get the “peanut sauce chicken”.
As I hoped this turned out to be satay sauce.
The drinks are, horror of horrors, from the Pepsi stable, but I adapted and overcame.
The satay chicken came on a great bed of rice and even what I think was bok choy.
It wasn’t immediately obvious but it seems you can get two choices from the menu as part of the lunch deal.
They may be a bit unpolished, but they do a good feed for the price.
