Drink driver runs into Macgregor fence

policeA 28-year-old Charnwood man has been charged with drink driving and reckless driving offences after running into a fence at Macgregor.

About 4.50am on Saturday, police went to a house in Marcus Faunce Street, Macgregor, following a report of a male trespassing. On arrival, police saw a white Toyota Camry parked nearby with its brake lights on. The vehicle left the area, driven in an erratic manner, and a short time later, the car left the road at the intersection of Cannan Crescent and Mcafarlane Burnet Crescent and collided with a fence.

The 28-year-old male driver was taken to the Belconnen Police Station where a breath analysis returned a result of 0.154.

The man was issued with an immediate suspension notice and will face the ACT Magistrates Court next month for drink driving and reckless/dangerous driving offences.
