ACT Policing’s Drug and Organised Crime Team has seized two firearms, ammunition and a quantity of drugs during a search warrant at a residence in Isabella Plains this morning (Wednesday 30 April).
Detectives executed a Section 194 Crimes Act search warrant on the home locating a 30/30 lever action rifle and air rifle, an extendable baton, along with cannabis and a small amount of white powder suspected to be methylamphetamine.
A 25-year-old Isabella Plains man will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
This result comes as the joint ACT Policing, ACT Government and Crime Stoppers ACT Illicit Firearms campaign ends today. Under the campaign, rewards of up to $5000 were available for information that led to the recovery of a firearm, or identity of anyone who may be using, keeping, or making illicit firearms.
Anyone with information regarding illicit firearms is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppers.com.au
