Hot water smokes out Deakin office

FIREFIGHTERS have arrived to an office building at Campion Street, Deakin investigating the cause of some smoke on the ground floor.

The two storey complex has been evacuated as a precaution.

ACT Fire & Rescue has found the cause to be from a burnt out hot water system on the ground floor.

Firefighters will ventilate the area and conduct atmospheric monitoring before allowing staff to return to the building.
