THE AUSTRALIAN Parliament House is joining in the fun of the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival with in-depth tours where people can get close and personal with the building.
On a two-hour behind the scenes tour “Valuing Heritage – Parliament House behind the Scenes”, 10am – 12 noon tomorrow, Tuesday, April 12, specialists will explain the design values of the home of Australia’s Parliament. That visit will finish with a buffet tea in the Members’ Guests Dining Room, enjoying panoramic views of Canberra.
Daily in the one-hour “Feel the Heritage – Parliament House Behind the Scenes Tour”, until April 18 at 10 – 11am, 12 noon – 1pm, 3 – 4pm, visitors can explore the building’s unique heritage and find out how the design is symbolic of Australia’s national identity.
For both tours, visitors are advised to arrive at Parliament House 15 minutes prior to their tour to allow time for clearance through security screening, to wear comfortable shoes and to present photo identification with their ticket.
