ACT Policing arrested a 26-year-old man yesterday (Sunday, 10 January) in relation to a shooting in Holt.

About 8.15pm, ACT Policing responded to the incident in an apartment complex in Holt, after reports a man had been shot in the leg.

The victim was transferred to The Canberra Hospital where he received treatment.

A short time later, police located and arrested the offender and conveyed him to the ACT Watch House.

A search of the offender’s residence resulted in the seizure of the firearm used and 230 rounds of ammunition.

The 26-year-old man will be charged with Intention to Inflict Grievous Bodily Harm and firearm offences and will face the ACT Magistrates Court today where bail will be opposed.

Investigations are ongoing and police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or act.crimestoppers.com.au.
