And now, the Minister’s Creative Council (MCC) is searching for about 12 members who have experience in the arts.
Mr Ramsay is looking for cretaives in areas such as visual arts and craft, curatorship, music, dance, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and cultures, theatre, physical theatre and circus, literature, community arts and cultural development, screen arts, comedy, design and arts events.
“We’re seeking a diverse, multi-disciplinary membership for the council to ensure that we are capturing advice and insights from across our broad and varied arts community,” he says.
“Canberra is home to many artists, both established and emerging in their fields. With our connection to both local arts communities and the national and international arts sector through our national institutions, we have a real opportunity to contribute to the creative life of Australia.
“The MCC will reflect the diversity of our arts sector, across all levels of practice and participation, and will work to generate great ideas for the arts in Canberra.”
Expressions of interest for members of the MCC are open until August 24. For more information and to apply, visit the website here
