IN the lead up to the upcoming ACT Budget, which will be released tomorrow (June 4), deputy Chief Minister Yvette Berry has announced that the ACT government will invest in two new Gungahlin schools.
One school will be a primary school in Throsby and the other will be a high school in Kenny.
The Throsby school, catering for Kindergarten to Year 6, will be built so it can fit 450 students and about 132 preschool students, with space to accommodate future student growth.
Ms Berry says the school will be ready to take students for the 2022 school year.
The Kenny high school will cater for 800 students from Years 7 to 10 with room for temporary expansion to accommodate more places if required. It’s planned to open in the 2023 school year.
