Where old charm meets new technology

WITH people spending more time at home and listening to music, Duratone Hi-Fi has seen an increase in people digging out their records and updating their audio systems, says owner Fay Cull.

With 52 years of staff knowledge, Duratone Hi-Fi is passionate about sound, with a focus on selling, servicing and maintaining high-end audio systems and equipment.

It’s also a place where old-world charm meets the latest technology, according to Fay, who says customers who want retro items like turntables, amplifiers, speakers and vinyl will find them in store alongside the very latest streaming devices.

“It’s like stepping back in time in some ways but we also have the newest technology, and you see this sense of ‘old-meets-new’ when you walk in the door,” she says.

Fay says the unique thing about Duratone Hi-Fi is the expertise, knowledge and experience held by staff.

“Our staff focus on the personal requirements of each customer, which means they can deliver a personalised experience like no other,” she says.

“Depending on what music they wish to listen to, we can advise on the best equipment available to suit.

“We can repair systems for those who want to maintain an older set-up, trade-in or put together the right system for them, [too].”
