Covid case numbers on the rise in southern NSW

FORTY-two new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in southern NSW today including 15 in Queanbeyan-Palerang and another 16 in Goulburn.



Of the Queanbeyan-Palerang LGA new cases, two are in Googong, four are in Jerrabomberra, two are in Karabar, two are in Queanbeyan, three are in Crestwood, one is in Bungendore and one is in Greenleigh.

Elsewhere there are also:

  • Two in the Yass Valley LGA (both in Yass).


  • One in the Snowy Monaro LGA (Jindabyne).
  • Five in the Eurobodalla LGA. Three in Moruya, one is in Tomakin and one in Broulee.
  • Two in the Bega Valley LGA. One in Eden and in Bega.


  • One in the Upper Lachlan LGA (in Fulleton).


  • There are 186 active COVID-19 cases in Southern NSW. 



Care of active cases is now delivered in NSW one of four ways:



  1. Hospitalisation – sick patients are admitted into hospital for treatment.


  2. Virtual care – patients who need extra support are cared for in their own homes under the Southern NSW LHD virtual care program. This program provides daily online consultations and monitoring of temperature, blood pressure and oxygen levels. Patients who deteriorate are quickly transferred to hospital for inpatient care.


  3. GP care – low risk patients who need some medical supervision.


  4. Self managed – people under 65 years of age, who are asymptomatic and fully vaccinated, not pregnant or suffering from any chronic conditions.



The table below includes tallies of active cases currently being managed as part of the Southern NSW Local Health District virtual-care program.
