Heavy rain leads to SES call outs

ACT Emergency Services responded to more than 20 calls for help after heavy rain fell across the Territory yesterday (December 9).

SES volunteers were called out to incidents of leaking roofs, fallen trees and flooding – mainly in Canberra’s north.

Wet weather is expected to continue today (December 10) with the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) forecasting up to 35mm of rain, before easing slightly over the weekend.

Authorities are urging Canberrans to be cautious as we continue to experience a wetter than average summer.
